Todd Cordell
"They are shooting ~11% at 5 v 5, which is unsustainably high."
Peter Tessier
"They are not shooting at some wildly high percentage either"

Cordell limited his analysis to 5 vs 5 play, while Tessier took into account the whole game.
I think. |

The only thing I'll remember is that James Tanner thinks the Habs are unreal this year.
Which is good enough for me. |

So the advanced stats say they suck but the advanced stats say they're 10th best in this function. They have the best goalie in the NHL but they can't sustain their league beat goaltending. They won the division 2 out of the 3 yeas prior to last seaso 's mess. It they cannot possibly compete for the division title because their good goaltending can't continue to be good and because their Corsi is good but really it's bad.
I just summed up this blog |

I know- what the hell did Todd look at?
Or what did I look at?
So I went back and looked at my info and the silly website defaulted to the 2015-16 season and I didn't notice.
So yeah- they are shooting well above and stopping too many- FRAUDS!!!! |

Too early to tell.
I'll say this though, if you think the leafs are a playoff team but the Habs will have to fight for a wild card spot, you're a (frank)ing moron. |

Montreal is for real as long as Price is healthy. The Canadiens are a Cup contender with Price. Without Price they are not. |

agreed, although I think adding radulov was a brilliant move that gives them much more balanced scoring up front (that they didn't really have in the past.....atleast not last season).
if price goes down they're in HUGE trouble (although you could say that about half the teams in the league who lose their best player) but as long as he's healthy they should be a top 3-4 team in the conference. |

Let's wait until Saturday and then make sweeping generalizations from one game...? |

Not the way it works. You need to underestimate them, call them a bottom feeders. Then watch them make the playoffs or win the conference or squeak in at 8 and knock off the first place team or win one or two rounds or knock off Crosby and Ovechkin back to back...
And you need to do it every year.....year after year after (frank)ing year.

Until the Montreal media finds out about Radulov's ties to the Russian mob and his penchant for public nudity, Montreal will continue to roll. |

They're biggest tests are coming up the next two games. Very tough back-to-back with the Islanders tonight and then the Lightning tomorrow. We'll know more after these two games, especially after the Bolts.
Even the Pittsburgh game, Pens were missing Crosby (and Letang?)
As a Habs fan, I'm cautiously optimistic. Not saying that this is gunna happen, but last time they tanked a year (and drafted Galchenyuk 3rd overall) they won the president's trophy the following year... just sayin. |

ok!
No offence to the leafs, they are heading in the right direction.
Two days ago the topic was can leafs make the playoffs....
"Oh yesi, of course!!"
Today...
"The Habs? Who knows?!" With contradicting stats, mind you.
Come on... |

This is 1000% accurate. The last time the Habs won the division, I specifically remember James Tanner had them out of the playoffs, fighting for a lottery pick... We went to the conference finals. lol |
